Tracey Wong

Tracey Wong is a multi-disciplined communicator and coordinator in sustainable development and community engagement. She endeavours to drive systems change focusing not just on sustainability but also on regeneration and better practices in transitioning to a healthier economy.

Adapting and enhancing operational activities in parallel with shaping team cultures, she is renowned for putting ideas into action with a positive attitude. Her work experience across various industries includes content and technical writing, copy editing, internal communications, social media management, publicity campaigns, software testing, web accessibility, information architecture, standardisation, capability building, regulatory compliance, GHG emissions reporting, workshop facilitation, and project coordination.

As a Multiethnic Young Leaders NZ Member and certified Net Impact Climate Ambassador, alongside serving in DEI and wellbeing committees, Tracey has special interests in improving operations and circularity for our communities with equity considerations and intergenerational inclusion. She has facilitated En-ROADS Climate Workshops across the globe – including at corporate departments, Auckland Climate Festival 2022, and Schools Climate Assembly 2023 in Birmingham, England. In 2019, she represented New Zealand in the Dragon 100 international forum exploring themes of innovation and sustainability. She was also the moderator for the ‘In conversation: Intersectionality and the climate crisis’ panel discussion at Auckland Climate Festival 2023.

Furthermore, she is passionate about enabling rangatahi (young people) to be resilient climate leaders. She was the Head of Welfare in addition to being a workshop facilitator on systems thinking, business plans, and communication at Youth Climate Collective’s inaugural Climate Action Conference in 2023. She continues to volunteer as their Regional Activators Programme Coordinator, overseeing programme promotion and applicant selection processes as well as connecting participants to additional support and mentorship.

Tracey graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Commercial Law, before pursuing further education with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Information Systems where she graduated with First Class Honours. Recognised in the Information Systems & Operations Management Honour Roll, she was awarded the New Zealand Computer Society Auckland Branch Cup (given to the best student in Information Systems) as well as the First in Course Award in Enterprise Resource Planning Systems and the First in Course Award in Information Systems Research. She also has a Graduate Diploma in Publishing from Whitireia New Zealand where she was involved in the production, editing, and marketing of several books and digital publications.

Currently based in London, Tracey is advancing her learnings in social and environmental impact through both working and volunteering for numerous organisations where she supports the delivery of multiple projects and events.

In her spare time when she is not thinking about the next world problem to solve, Tracey likes to dabble in photography, nature walks, and exploring new places.
